Reviews and Testimonials

“This July, pet sitter Melissa B. provided wonderful care of our terminally sick cat while we were out of town for over 2 weeks. On her twice daily visits she capably administered a myriad of medicines, as well as attended to the other needs of our ailing pet. Melissa went beyond our expectations by doing extras such as keeping detailed records of administration of medicine and of the condition of the cat, bringing a radio so that he could listen to music, searching for food that might be palatable to a cat who had lost most of his appetite yet not aggravate his condition, texting us regularly, and even sending us occasional photos of the little guy. On our return, it was clear that our cat had significantly benefited from Melissa’s expert treatment. Melissa came to us highly recommended by the North Carolina Veterinary School and she more than lived up to the recommendation. We are very grateful for her services!”

“I have had the pleasure of working with Melissa for three years. She has outstanding technical skills and pays careful attention to detail, which are necessary attributes when one is caring for ill patients. Just as important though is that she cares deeply for her patients and goes the extra mile to give them love and attention. She truly loves animals and observing her connections with patients often brightens my (and her patients’!) days. I would absolutely trust her to care for my own pets at any time.”

“I have worked with Melissa for two of the three years of my residency at NCSU.  Melissa impressed me right from the start with her high level of attention to detail and her working medical knowledge.  Melissa sets a shining example for unwavering dedication to patient care and comfort.  Melissa is the definition of treating the patients that she cares for as well as she would treat her own.  She takes the extra time to comfort patients who are frightened away from their families and effortlessly wins over the trust of patients with especially difficult temperaments.  She genuinely loves all animals and her instincts are always right on target.  I trust Melissa to take care of my most critical patients in the hospital and know that they receive the best care possible from her.  I am typically a reluctant person to take trips and leave my own dogs and cat behind and only trust a very small handful of people to care for them.  However, I would have no reservations at all about leaving them in Melissa’s care.  I would highly recommend her to take care of your pets as well.”

“I’ve known Melissa for nearly ten years and I can honestly say that I have yet to encounter someone with a larger heart and understanding for providing excellent care to animals. We met while working as veterinary technicians at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. I was in awe of Melissa’s patience and compassion for even the most difficult patients and as a coworker, there was no one more dependable. Melissa not only deeply cares about the animals under her watch, but she has a breadth of knowledge for many different species making her an invaluable resource as a pet-sitter. I am extremely particular about whom I hire to take care of my own pets while I am away; only a handful of people have made the cut and Melissa is at the top of the list. I sincerely wish she lived nearby so that I wouldn’t have to worry about my own fur-babies when traveling. You will be hard pressed to find a better caregiver than Melissa- give her a chance and I’m sure you’ll feel the same!”
